Important Notice About Coronavirus and COVID-19 (as of April 27, 2020)
Dear valued patient,
As the Coronavirus remains in our communities, your New Braunfels Surgery Center team recognize the turmoil and anxiety you may be feeling as we look to expeditiously handle the current Flu Pandemic and put it behind us so that we can all return to normal day-to-day activities.
In accordance with Governor Abbott’s Phased plan of opening Texas again, we are delighted to announce that our facility is open every day and operating with your needs in mind. Please be assured that the safety and health of our patients and staff is, and continues to be, our number one priority. We are continually following the recommendations of Governor Abbott, as well as the CDC, Texas Department of State Health Services, and the Texas Medical Board to ensure we can safely address your outpatient elective surgical needs. As things change, we will adjust our policies and practices to respond appropriately to new developments. At the same time, we intend to keep you informed about best infection-control practices and what you need to know to keep yourself and your loved ones safe.
Our healthcare team are taking a series of proactive specific actions to protect our patients. These actions include the following special precautions:
What to expect on the day of your visit
Please wear something to cover your nose and mouth; this can be a mask/scarf/bandanna or other item. If you do not have a face covering, our receptionist will be glad to offer you a surgical mask.
When checking in at reception you will be given a questionnaire to complete. The receptionist will provide hand gel at the time of check-in. If you have a fever or cough, you will be requested to book another appointment when you are symptom-free. If no symptoms, your temperature will be taken by one of our medical assistants and if within normal range, you will be able to see the provider and have your procedure.
Please, no visitors
We ask that all companions, including family members, wait outside the facility or drop off patients to decrease risk of infection. For procedures, please give a description of the vehicle and location, as well as family member name and telephone number to the receptionist. The family member will be contacted when the procedure is completed.
Waiting room protocol
All of our staff members will have their temperatures recorded each day to ensure your safety.
Patients will be spaced appropriately throughout the waiting area so as to maintain social distancing.
Infection Control
All of our staff members will have their temperatures recorded each day to ensure your safety.
Our staff will wear a combination of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where appropriate (N95 facemask, gloves, eye protection and surgical gowns). They will use hand gel in between patients.
All exam rooms and equipment are wiped down after each patient visit and again during lunch and at the end of the day. This includes periodic cleaning of waiting areas.
Contacting Us
You will of course be able to reach our staff during normal working hours at 830-387-2343 or any other questions regarding your care. Our answering service picks up after 5 PM daily.
Thank you for being a patient of New Braunfels Surgery Center, and we appreciate your partnership.
